St Anthony's Feast Day - June 13

Welcome to Week 9! Today is the feast day of our school's patron saint, St Anthony of Padua. Our morning began with the prayerful celebration of this feast day, led by Mrs Booker, Mrs Wood and the children of 2M. We were reminded of our call to spread the Good News as St Anthony did. We also had Sr Rita from the Presentation Order speak with us and present our school with an icon of Nano Nagle, the foundress of the Presentation Order, of which St Anthony's is part. The whole school then moved to the bottom oval for our annual cross country. The weather was superb - a perfect day for our celebrations. Competition was fierce, with the Gold house eventually named as this year's winners. After a break for morning tea, the children gathered in the outdoor assembly area to join their groups for the St Anthony Fun Day activities. This is always a great way to spend the day, with a fun variety of team activities for students from Prep to Year 7. Thankyou goes to Mr Marrinan, the year 7 teachers, the year 7 student leaders, parent and staff helpers who all contributed to make the whole day such a wonderful success.
