Thank you to Mrs Buckley and Year 4B who led us in a reflective prayer assembly on Catholic Mission Month this morning. Their message that we are chosen by God to reach out in love and compassion to others is an important one. As one of their beautiful songs reminded us, we nedd to be the eyes, ears, hands and heart of God in our world. This message is one that adds to that given to us by 7A last week. World Mission Day is on Sunday 24 October 2010 and the appeal theme is "Build Community Together in Christ". The appeal takes us to Timor-Leste, a country with a troubled history of invasion, oppression and poverty. We can all work, even in small ways, to bring about the Kingdom of God in the way we live our life in peaceful cummunion with each other.
