What a wonderful treat to be visited by two local authors this week! On Wednesday, students in Years 5 to 7 were visited by Janet Reid, author of the Ruby Bottle. The children enjoyed the activities Janet did with them based around the writing process and went away with their own diary and ruby bottle to do some writing of their own. On Thursday, students from Prep to Year 4 were visited by Katrina Logan, author of Down by the Bay and Straddie, to name just two. She showed the children the steps involved in the publishing process and read from a couple of her picture books. I am very grateful to these ladies for sharing their expertise with our students. The feedback from the staff and the children was very positive and I look forward to inviting them back next year.
